Monologue

A monologue is when one character speaks for a long time without interruption.

Key Points:

  • Only one actor is speaking.
  • Usually expresses inner thoughts, emotions, or a story.
  • Often used in auditions, theatre plays, and dramatic scenes.

Examples:

  • A character talking about their past trauma.
  • A villain giving a speech before a big moment.
  • A hero expressing their plan or feelings to the audience.
